Free Beer in Kilkenny
Thrilled to be hitting the glorious city of Kilkenny on Friday the 8th of December. We play The Bowery and we have support from local band The Wha. And the gang of deadlies that run the Bowery have promised a free pint for the 1st 30 people in the door on the night - how cool is that (Youth Mass promote sensible drinking).
All the gig details are on this Facebook event page below
See you there Kilkenny
Great night in Whelan's with some great pics too
Thanks to everyone who came to the midnight hour on Friday, the place was jammed, and the atmosphere was unreal, we're still buzzing.
Big shout to Caoimhe in Gardiner Management and also Dave and the chaps in Whelan's, top night.
Also the support act, Segrasso, 4 lads from Dublin, they were excellent, we'd play with them again for sure, check 'em live if ya have a chance. https://www.facebook.com/SegrassoOfficial/
Also big love to Aaron from Aetherlight Photography for trying to make us look less of a shower of bellends than we actually are - a truly uphill struggle in anyone's book. https://www.facebook.com/AetherlightPhotography/
We'll share Aaron's handy work later in the week, however, check out the awesome shot of Willy, cool as shit.
Making our debut in The Underground
So happy to be playing in the Underground on Dame street in December. It's a venture by Abner Brown and a brand new club, just opened in the summer. Fair fucks Abner, it's a sweet venue in fairness, and we can't wait to play on Dec 7th. More to follow on support etc but here's the event page on facer https://www.facebook.com/events/497575967282653/
Midnight Hour in Whelan's kicks off winter gig series 2017
We play the midnight hour in Whelan's in early Nov, Friday the 3rd actually. This is the first in a series of gigs we'll be announcing that should take us round the country, and finish up back in Dublin.
This Whelan's gig should be awesome, we're always really well looked after by Dave and the team in Whelan's, plus, come midnight, people are a little looser and kinda dance their rocks off, its so much fun.
All dates and support acts to follow, in the mean time we've an event page you an join up to just here. https://www.facebook.com/events/1778202278887945/
Peace YM
Congrats Darren
Our guitarist/lead singer/general leader has only gone and got himself hitched!!!
Wipe those tears folks, it had to happen at some stage. Darren and his long term partner Belinda got wed at the weekend. The beautiful Bride and the Groom head off to South East Asia for a month, back just in time for Whelan's lol.
Thank you EP & B&S
What a weekend at the Picnic. Played a 50 min set on the Body & Soul Stage and pretty much dodged the rain as well. Thanks to every one who checked us out - all the fun!
Got to share this pic we were tagged in by Fergal Lynch - the hack of us, but we loved every minute.
We're Playing Electric Picnic 2017!!!!
So thrilled to share this news with you. Body & Soul have asked us to play their main stage on Saturday evening at this years festival. We're so happy, it's one of the best weekends of the year, and the natural amphitheatre that is their main stage is so cool to hang out in, never mind play. We played that stage a few years ago and had such a buzz, dying for it again.
Stage time etc to follow, don't forget to like our Facebook page and give us an ol' folly on the tweet machine for more YM news. https://www.facebook.com/thisisyouthmass/
Peace
Thanks to Photographer John Jason Gray
Sending big love and thanks to deadly Co Meath photographer and all round cool dude John Jason Gray http://www.johnjasongray.com/ for allowing us to you his image for our EP. As soon as we saw it we fell in love, he's a serious talent, no doubt.

"The Best Gigs to See This Week...."
Thank you thank you thank you to the good folks at The Irish Times and more specifically The Ticket for including us as one of their "best gigs to see" for the upcoming week, and saying cool stuff about us too.
Have you spotted a YM poster?
Posters for our EP release, they seem to be popping up pretty much everywhere in town, seen any yet? We even spotted one on a bus! It's pretty awesome seeing yourself on a poster when you least expect it, but it's absolutely mortifying as well lol.
Big thanks to (our deadly partner in crime for this show) Gardiner Music, amazing stuff.
On the Cover of a Magazine.....
Yay!!!
Sure there we are, on the cover of a magazine.
Thanks so much to Pure M magazine for letting us ruin them for ever by putting our ugly mugs on their lovely publication. They'll surely regret it some day, in the meantime, we'll just ride this fame wave.
Our front man Darren has the chats inside too, a full 2 page spread no less, where he talks about highs and lows, about love and loss, he doesn't hold back (well there's not a whole lot of that but he mentions the gig in The Workman's for sure).
Check it out, it's a sweet publication with music news and reviews, movies, the lot, all for €2.
